I studied BA (Hons) Visual Arts at Swansea, graduated in 1995 then a PGCE in Art & Design (Secondary Education) at UWIC in 1997. I returned home to Pembrokeshire to lecture in Art and Design and Photography. I also work as a fine art painter, and fine art photographer.

 

I work in various media such as, 35mm film, pinhole photography, digital photography and silkscreen printing, combined with mixed medium painting.

I have exhibited my work throughout Pembrokeshire and Wales, and London.

For my mixed medium work I use canvas board, acrylic paint, sometimes I add various text from maps newspaper papers, magazines, and Letraset.

The work is layered using brushes, pallet knife, and roller. Sometimes they are sanded back to reveal under painting layers.

Onto this I silkscreen print my own photographic images. I mainly use a dodging and burning tools in Photoshop to create the image ready for screen, this is like creating a painting deciding which details to keep and which to omit. 

 

All paintings are sealed with UV matt varnish. Each screen is used once only making each piece unique.
